AMN Healthcare enters MSP and RPO contract with Hendrick Medical Center

AMN Healthcare Services, Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the nation's largest healthcare staffing and workforce solutions company and Hendrick Medical Center, a 500-bed hospital in Abilene, TX, jointly announce a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) contract between the two.

"Hendrick Medical Center has been a long-standing partner with AMN for both nursing and health professionals, including a preferred partner for travel nursing," says Jo Rake, RN, MSN, vice president of nursing at Hendrick Medical Center.  "Through our long-standing relationship with AMN, they've proven their ability to provide quality temporary healthcare staff.  Our confidence in AMN's ability to meet our temporary staffing and permanent recruitment healthcare staffing needs, and the value of consolidating suppliers, to include cost savings, are a few of the many benefits of this agreement."  

Ralph Henderson, AMN President for the Nursing and Allied divisions, said, "This partnership not only provides Hendrick Medical Center access to the largest supply of healthcare professionals, but it will also create efficiencies resulting in lower bill rates and operational costs, reduced liability and mitigated insurance risks, and increased compliance with clinical standards.  We see this as a tremendous advantage for Hendrick, our healthcare professionals, our team members and ultimately, the quality of patient care."  

With the MSP agreement Hendrick will transfer the day-to-day healthcare staffing management responsibility to AMN.  The MSP will provide Hendrick access to automated administrative and operational processes associated with their supplemental labor and internal resource pool management.  Benefits include more efficient operations, standardized quality control requirements as well as streamlined workflow for candidate matching, interviews, approvals and hiring.  

The RPO partnership gives Hendrick Medical Center the opportunity to outsource its core staff recruitment process to AMN.  Benefits include reduction in cost per hire, access to the nation's largest network of quality candidates, decreased vacancy rates and improved candidate satisfaction.  By combining both MSP and RPO, Hendrick will centralize the administration of both their permanent staffing recruitment and staffing vendor management to achieve an all-inclusive workforce management solution.

The contract between AMN Healthcare and Hendrick became effective July, 2010.
