Evolvent assists DoD progress towards National Health Information Network

Evolvent Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of healthcare information technology services to the Federal Government, is assisting the Department of Defense (DoD) progress towards the National Health Information Network (NHIN). NHIN is a set of standards, services and policies that allow Health Information Exchange (HIE) via the Internet. This allows physicians to be able to connect with, and exchange information with, other physicians, as well as laboratories. Evolvent is among an elite class of companies that is actively involved with implementations onto the NHIN via the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) initiatives.  Additionally, Evolvent is developing significant upgrades to the Bidirectional Health Information Exchange (BHIE) capabilities to begin the interchange into alignment with modern standards.

Evolvent has assisted the DoD successfully become one of the initial groups of health organizations to navigate the new NHIN on-boarding procedures, including standards compliance and interoperability testing. NHIN will be beneficial for both commercial entities and other government spaces. Evolvent is truly excited to have this opportunity to extend its direct experience with implementation of National Health Information Network-based HIE, and DoD-VA interoperability in general.
