BioSpace and BioMed Central are announcing the launch of the BioMed Central Career Network today, a new online community for life science professionals seeking quality recruitment, job opportunities and industry news.

The new Career Network combines BioSpace.com's 400,000 monthly unique visitors with open access publisher BioMed Central's 1.2 million registrants to create an interactive community for life science corporations, research institutes, government and academia. The Career Network provides all life science professionals with leading content, employment resources and hundreds of posted positions from one location.

"The BioMed Central Career Network is an important resource for professionals employed within research communities," said Mike Tansey, chief executive officer of onTargetjobs, the parent company of BioSpace. "This partnership also represents a crucial connection between top employers and job seekers engaged by BioMed Central's published research."

"BioMed Central's partnership with BioSpace will provide the biomedical community with a wide range of opportunities for advancing their career," said Matthew Cockerill, managing director of BioMed Central. "By linking researchers and potential employers together, the Career Network ensures the life sciences will continue to attract the highest caliber people for years to come."
