Metcare enters definitive agreement to acquire assets of Delima's medical practice

Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. (NYSE AMEX: MDF), a leading provider of healthcare services in Florida, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Metcare of Florida, Inc., ("Metcare") has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and assume certain liabilities of Selma C. Delima, M.D., P.A.

Dr. Delima is a board certified Family Practitioner who has developed a diverse and vibrant patient base, which includes approximately 450 Humana Medicare Advantage members, in Deland, Florida. The practice is currently contracted with Metcare and its Humana membership is already included in Metcare's customer base. Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close within 90 days, were not disclosed.

Commenting on the transaction, Jose A. Guethon, MD, MBA, President and Chief Operating Officer, of Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc., stated, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to bring Dr. Delima's medical practice into our group of owned medical centers. As per the terms of the transaction, we are happy to report that she will continue her work with the practice and together with the Metropolitan team, will build on her base of existing patients. Dr. Delima has been an important affiliate in our largest market, the Daytona area, and this is a mutually beneficial arrangement for both parties. Dr. Delima achieves an important step in her personal goals and Metropolitan makes another step in its announced plan to own more high potential and high quality medical practices serving people with Medicare."
