(NASDAQ: QSII) and a leading provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity solutions, today announced that NextGen® Inpatient Clinicals version 2.4 has earned designation as a premarket conditionally CCHIT Certified® 2011 Inpatient EHR.

“With this certification, NextGen Healthcare has realized that vision. We now offer a certified suite of innovative products and consulting services that can help providers integrate across the continuum of care.”

"Long before ARRA stimulus funding and Meaningful Use, we recognized the need to help providers improve their care by leveraging technology and patient data across ambulatory and inpatient settings," said Scott Decker, president of NextGen Healthcare. "With this certification, NextGen Healthcare has realized that vision. We now offer a certified suite of innovative products and consulting services that can help providers integrate across the continuum of care."

A highly scalable, secure and Web-based solution, NextGen Inpatient Clinicals can be delivered through remote hosting or local deployment. It runs on any desktop platform or smartphone with a data plan and standard Web browser, including the iPhone®, iPadtm, BlackBerry®, Googletm or Windows® Mobile devices. By implementing the NextGen Inpatient Clinicals Suite, hospitals can benefit from applications such as the certified EHR, CPOE, nursing and physician documentation, clinical decision support, barcoded medication administration, and a physician desktop view. In addition, NextGen Inpatient Clinicals supports connectivity with radiology, labs, and pharmacies with live, 24/7 support. When combined with NextGen® Inpatient Financials, providers gain a complete clinical, financial, and administrative solution.

"In response to client and industry demand, we tailored our inpatient solution to specifically meet the needs of rural and community hospitals," said Steve Puckett, Senior Vice President and General Manager, NextGen Inpatient Solutions. "It brings this historically underserved market segment an unmatched level of connectivity with their patients and their community."

NextGen Healthcare is one of only three EHR providers to earn 2011 CCHIT® certification for an inpatient product. The company also intends to certify NextGen Inpatient Clinicals under the ONC-ATCB program in the near future, in accordance with the 2011/2012 criteria that support Stage 1 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
