HOYA Vision Care discusses technological developments and future of progressive lenses at Global PAL Summit

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

From 27 September until 1 October HOYA Vision Care invited a selection of its best lens experts and VIP customers from all over the world to join its Global PAL Summit in La Toja, Spain. Goal was to discuss in depth new technological developments and share vision and plans on the future generation progressive lenses.

Being a "Journey of Inspiration", as the summit was called, Hoya optical lens designers, doctors and professors in the field of Optometry and Ophthalmology, specialists in binocular vision and non adaptation all inspired the highly skilled audience by sharing their expertise, vision, future expectations and developments in PAL.

Participating opticians were asked to prepare a poster presentation and share their experiences and expectations for the future generation progressives and related other topics.

The overall conclusion was that we are heading towards more personalization in progressive lens design and that the growing population of 40 years and older will become more demanding in terms of personal attention and individual solutions. In the search for personalized progressives, the 'consultation experience' will therefore become more important than ever before.

A few quotes describe best the impact this summit had on all participants:

"We are energized by the content and the communication with our peers. We are honored to be part of the conference and are going away with a new vigor for our optics and practices."

"It showed me what a great team we truly have at Hoya and that the Hoya staff are passionate about our company and its direction. Everyone I spoke to all agree it is like a family and that we are treated as people and not numbers like in so many other large companies."
