TRS Institute (TRSI), the nation's leading provider of AHDI-approved online medical transcription and speech recognition training programs, announces an exclusive partnership with ScribeAmerica, the nation's pioneer in medical scribe training and management. The two organizations will combine and leverage training expertise to deliver an affordable self-study, self-paced online training program for Medical Scribes.

“We are thrilled to partner with ScribeAmerica - the leader in medical scribe management and education. The new training represents a first. Until now, medical scribe training was limited in scope and available only in instructor-led environments.”

TRSI CEO Peter Reilly says, "We are thrilled to partner with ScribeAmerica - the leader in medical scribe management and education. The new training represents a first. Until now, medical scribe training was limited in scope and available only in instructor-led environments." He adds that the cutting-edge course will open highly rewarding professional opportunities in the emerging healthcare documentation arena to program graduates.

Clinical Information Managers, or Medical Scribes, help to enhance physician productivity by maintaining patient records. Healthcare reform's emphasis on electronic health records (EHR) is driving an increased need for high quality healthcare documentation. Clinical Information Managers serve as assistants to physicians who track and maintain the patient's medical record (EHR), including physician interaction with the patient, procedures performed, results of laboratory studies, and other pertinent information.

ScribeAmerica's Chief Medical Officer Luis Moreno says, "The significant growth in demand for our services is clear indication of the need for more Clinical Information Managers. Our partnership with TRS Institute will help fill the shortage that the Medical Scribe industry is experiencing and help facilitate its growth." He notes that, in seeking a partner, training excellence was paramount. "TRSI's strong track record in healthcare documentation training and workforce development was the deciding factor," he states.

The new Medical Scribe online training program will launch in January, 2011. As part of its ongoing commitment to make job training programs as widely accessible as possible to allied health professionals, TRSI will offer a time-limited partial scholarship for students who enroll between now and the first class, on Monday, January 10, 2011.
