RediClinic®, a leading operator of retail-based healthcare clinics, today announced that it will open 20 new clinics in H-E-B stores across Texas. The expansion will almost double the 21 H-E-B-based RediClinics currently operating, which will enable RediClinic to provide more Texans with easy access to high-quality, affordable healthcare.

Eight new RediClinics are scheduled to open in H-E-B stores across the Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets by the end of January 2011. The three new San Antonio RediClinics will operate in affiliation with Methodist Healthcare System, San Antonio.

"Our Houston- and Austin-area RediClinics already have served more than half-million satisfied patients," said Web Golinkin, RediClinic's chief executive officer. "We look forward to responding to Texans' growing need for access to primary and preventive healthcare by increasing our capacity in Houston and Austin, and by bringing our unique model of accessible and affordable care to San Antonio residents."

RediClinic partners with leading healthcare systems in all of its markets in order to ensure quality and continuity of care. In addition to its new San Antonio affiliation with Methodist Healthcare System, RediClinic is affiliated with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston and St. David's HealthCare in Austin.

RediClinic's expansion is a sign of a growing need for new solutions in an era of healthcare reform. "As demand for primary and preventive care continues to outstrip supply, and as costs continue to escalate at unsustainable rates, new delivery models are emerging," said Golinkin. "RediClinic has spent the last five years developing a new model of care that increases access and reduces costs without sacrificing quality, and the time is right for us to begin making it more widely available."

RediClinics are staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants who collaborate with local physicians to diagnose, treat and prescribe medications for common medical conditions. RediClinic also offers a wide range of preventive services, including immunizations, health screenings, medical tests, and physical exams.  RediClinics are open seven days a week, with extended weekday hours, and no appointments are needed.
