Sapient Government Services, a division of Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE), today announced that it has been awarded a multiple-award Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) prime contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The award allows Sapient to compete for task orders with other contract awardees to perform a variety of management consulting services for the CDC under the agency's Information Management Services (CIMS) contract. The contract has a potential value of up to $1 billion across all 16 contract awardees and a base period of two years with four, two-year option periods.

“This contract is another step in our active expansion of prime contractor work for the federal government, and we look forward to supporting the CDC on its global health mission.”

"We are thrilled to extend our long-standing relationship with the Department of Health and Human Services to support the CDC," said Alan Herrick, Sapient President and Chief Executive Officer. "We are proud of our contributions to the federal healthcare market and look forward to assisting the CDC in its mission to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health."

The CDC awarded the prime contract to Sapient Government Services based on its proven track record of solutions delivery, development of innovative capabilities, and commitment to supporting the critical needs of U.S. government partners. The CIMS contract recognizes Sapient's continued growth as a supplier of mission-critical solutions and extends Sapient's growing portfolio of prime contracts across the federal government.

"We are excited by this new opportunity to provide our breadth of services to the CDC's 16,000-employee workforce," said Teresa Bozzelli, vice president and managing director of Sapient Government Services. "This contract is another step in our active expansion of prime contractor work for the federal government, and we look forward to supporting the CDC on its global health mission."
