Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers (PRI), the second largest medical malpractice insurer in New York state, today announced that its physician communication course "Tuning In: Communication Skills for Partnering with Patients" has been honored as the winner of the 2010 Chief Learning Officer Gold Award in the "Excellence in E-Learning" category.
“From the response of our physicians, we knew PRI and Enspire had created a powerful educational experience”
The awards, presented by Chief Learning Officer Magazine, honor excellence in the design and delivery of educational programs. PRI's course helps physicians reduce their risk of malpractice litigation through the exploration and enhancement of communication skills in a variety of challenging patient situations. The competition included entrants from a variety of industries.
PRI partnered with Enspire Learning, a leading provider of simulation-based training and online learning solutions, to deliver its courses to physicians online. More than 6,000 physicians have participated in the online course and earned CME credits.
"From the response of our physicians, we knew PRI and Enspire had created a powerful educational experience," said Gerald Dolman, President of PRI. "We are very pleased that the quality and effectiveness of this online learning course has been recognized with the CLO Gold award."
"Enspire thrives on developing simulation-based programs that solve organizations' unique needs," said Bjorn Billhardt, CEO of Enspire Learning. "We are honored that our work with PRI was recognized with a CLO Award."
