14th World Conference on Lung Cancer: Online registration opens

Online registration opens today for the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer, which will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from July 3-7, 2011.

More than 7,000 delegates are expected to attend the conference, which is hosted by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the only global organization dedicated to the study of lung cancer. Registration information can be found at 2011worldlungcancer.org.

The event program will include analyzing recent advances in prevention, imaging, and early detection of lung cancer; identifying advances in the molecular biology and pharmacogenomics of lung cancer and their effect on personalized lung cancer treatment; and applying the new IASLC staging system to thoracic malignancies.

"The World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) is the world's largest meeting dedicated to solving the lung cancer problem and the problem of other thoracic cancers," said Dr. Paul Bunn, IASLC Executive Director. "The meeting is attended by over 7,000 individuals who are interested in reducing the burden of lung cancer and thoracic malignancies through research and programs in prevention, biology, early detection, diagnosis, staging, treatment and supportive care. The meeting has over 1,500 abstracts presenting the latest research findings as well as educational sessions, workshops on new technologies, nursing sessions, advocate sessions, exhibits and international exchanges. The WCLC is a 'must attend' conference for those individuals interested in reducing the burden of the world's largest cancer killer."

Media representatives are welcome to register and attend the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC), which will take place at the Amsterdam RAI exhibition and congress center.
