Skanska awarded healthcare projects totaling $282M in California

Skanska (STO:SKAB) has been awarded two major healthcare projects in California. The total contract amount is USD 282 M, approximately SEK 1.9 billion, which will be included in order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2010.

The first assignment pertains to the San Carlos Center healthcare facility. The customer is the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in San Carlos, California. This contract amounts to USD 145 M.

The new hospital, which will serve the inhabitants of San Carlos, will offer a combination of both primary and specialty physician services, as well as surgery, X-ray and testing services. The project will commence in the spring and is scheduled for completion in 2013.

The second contract amounts to USD 137 M and pertains to a multiphase renovation and expansion of a medical center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Construction will commence immediately and scheduled for completion in March 2015.
