Nipro Diagnostics, Inc., (formerly Home Diagnostics, Inc.), a leading manufacturer and marketer of diabetes monitoring and management products, has been named the South Florida Manufacturer of the Year, in the 200+ employee category, by the South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA). The award was presented March 23rd at the 32nd Annual Recognition of Excellence Awards Banquet at the Design Center of the Americas in Dania Beach, FL.

The award recognizes companies demonstrating benchmark-level quality, and the recognition is awarded by industry peers. Nipro Diagnostics will now become South Florida's 200+ employee representative to the state competition at the Manufacturers Association of Florida (MAF) Annual Manufacturing Summit and Global Marketplace in Orlando, Florida later this year.
Six key criteria for selection included: evaluation of leadership; strategic planning; workforce focus; process management; customer and market focus; and measurement, analysis and knowledge management. The SFMA Manufacturer of the Year Award recognizes and rewards excellence in all these facets of manufacturing while raising the visibility and value of manufacturing to the South Florida economy.
Each finalist company was visited by a panel of judges who evaluated company practices. The judges toured, observed, and asked questions at the Nipro Diagnostics manufacturing facility in Ft. Lauderdale. The South Florida Manufacturer of the Year award encompasses firms in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee Counties.
