Facing reform-driven requirements to trim $155 billion in waste over the next decade, American hospitals are searching for new ways to cut costs and increase revenue.

An emerging strategy is "Real-Time Operations Management," which uses the latest real-time enterprise workflow technologies to eliminate waste, gain market share, and improve patient care.

Real-time operational management is the subject of a free symposium at the Union Station Hotel here June 6-7, 2011, sponsored by TeleTracking Technologies.

To demonstrate the benefits of this approach, Susan Kilgore, Vice President of Patient Management, Methodist Healthcare of San Antonio, TX, will present results of a year-long initiative at Methodist which dramatically improved several patient flow performance metrics and doubled Transfer Center volume.

Representatives of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and East Jefferson General Hospital will also deliver results presentations, and TeleTracking's Director of Client Services Management, Mark Holoska, RN, BSN, will provide an overview of the company's product optimization services, which have helped TeleTracking maintain a 95 percent client retention rate. Attendees will also hear best practice recommendations which they can put to use immediately in their own institutions and an overview of TeleTracking Capacity Management Solutions on the XT platform.
