Health Net achieves reaccreditation from URAC

Health Net Federal Services, LLC, part of the Government Contracts segment of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), announced today it has been awarded full Health Network Reaccreditation, effective July 1, 2011 - July 1, 2014, from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. URAC accreditation establishes and measures key industry standards for health care management and improvement, as well as consumer protection.

"Health Net's URAC reaccreditation demonstrates our organization's commitment to quality and accountability throughout our policies, procedures and business practices," said Steven Tough, president of Health Net's Government and Specialty division, which includes Health Net Federal Services. "Accreditation in accordance with URAC's rigorous standards acknowledges our long-standing commitment and dedication to serve the military community with the highest quality health care."

As the managed care support contractor for the TRICARE North Region, Health Net provides health care services to more than 3 million uniformed service beneficiaries, including active duty and retired service members, National Guard and Reserve members, family members, survivors and other eligible beneficiaries. The TRICARE North Region includes: Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. In addition, the contract covers a small portion of Tennessee, Missouri and Iowa.
