IT and medical technology company Sectra (STO:SECTB) has been entrusted with delivering the northernmost PACS in the world. The major Norwegian healthcare region, Helse Nord, is set to use Sectra's solution and the eleven hospitals that are included in the region will share patient information and radiology images. This will facilitate the efficient use of resources and enhance the quality of care. Helse Nord has signed a four-year agreement with Sectra, with the option of an extension. The order value amounts to EUR 6.3 Million.
Under the agreement, Sectra will deliver its comprehensive solution for the management of patient information and digital radiology images (RIS/PACS) and the planning of orthopaedic procedures. The solution will be integrated with other IT systems at the hospitals, including the journal systems.
Using Sectra's system, the hospitals in Helse Nord will consolidate the radiology operations at the eleven hospitals into one operation. The installation of Sectra's comprehensive solution will enhance the efficiency of the operational processes that are related to the radiology departments and increase access to radiology images and patient information throughout the region.
"The agreement with Helse Nord confirms our ability to serve as a supplier with overall responsibility for the installation and maintenance of large and complex IT solutions for the healthcare sector, which are increasingly demanded by our customers," says Torbjörn Kronander, President of Sectra's medical operations. "Our partnership provides Helse Nord with the best ability to continue deploying advanced IT to deliver high-quality care to the vast and sparsely populated region."
