Flextronics Global Services (FGS), a business unit of Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX), today announced that it is expanding its service offering to the medical market in Europe through ISO 13485 medical certification at its Budapest facility. This medical certification is highly regulated, and is awarded only to organizations that demonstrate the highest quality systems and processes in the medical industry. Budapest is the latest FGS site to receive medical certification bringing the total to 9 global FGS sites including: Singapore, Guadalajara, Limerick, Lodz, Louisville, Memphis, Milpitas, and Venray.

"The process to achieve medical certification is intensive, where companies are required to demonstrate their continued commitments and obligations around process control, quality control processes and procedures over a specific period of time," said John O'Sullivan, president of FGS. "This certification follows our strategic decision to expand our FGS services portfolio to target the growing medical device and medical equipment markets. We are extremely proud of this ISO certification and look forward to the expanded services we are now able to offer medical Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in Europe."
