Solazyme launches anti-aging skincare line, Algenist at Space NK stores

Solazyme, Inc. (NASDAQ:SZYM), a renewable oil and bioproducts company, has signed a distribution agreement with the United Kingdom's most innovative beauty retailer, Space NK, to expand the sales network of the company's luxury skincare line, Algenist™, to include all 60 Space NK stores throughout the country. The advanced skincare brand, which features the breakthrough anti-aging ingredient, alguronic acid, will launch in Space NK stores and online beginning July 2011, retailing between £52 and £76.

Algenist is the world's first skincare line to introduce the breakthrough anti-aging ingredient, alguronic acid, to the market. In March of 2011, Solazyme successfully launched the initial Algenist product portfolio worldwide, in which it debuted to impressive results. In clinical trials, alguronic acid demonstrated superior anti-aging benefits and outperformed a multitude of highly successful regenerative compounds including hyaluronic acid and retinol.

Algenist will launch in the UK with four initial product offerings featuring the advanced anti-aging ingredient alguronic acid. The Algenist Concentrated Reconstructing Serum, formulated with alguronic acid, helps to restore skin density and elasticity, minimize the appearance of wrinkles, and boost skin radiance. The Algenist Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer and Regenerative Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF 20 helps to nourish and moisturize skin, rebuild firmness, and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Lastly, the Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm helps to reduce signs of aging and fatigue, diminish puffiness and dark circles and firm skin while minimizing fine lines around the eye area.

Solazyme's launch of Algenist in Space NK will bolster existing retailer offerings including Sephora International, Sephora USA, Sephora Canada, QVC and The Shopping Channel.
