High Capacity Instruments, Combining Allergy and Autoimmunity Testing Based on Proven Phadia Technology for Reliability

Today Phadia, the global leader in allergy and autoimmune related diseases diagnostics, announced the launch of Phadia's new allergy and autoimmunity testing instruments; Phadia 2500 and Phadia 5000.

The new high capacity instruments offers the possibility to combine allergy and autoimmunity testing, which means a throughput 4 to 5 times higher than any other combined instrument available today. With Phadia 2500 laboratories can deliver up to 25 000 results per week and up to 50 000 results when using Phadia 5000. Both instruments are flexible with the possibility to assay more than 600 allergens and 80 allergen components in combination with an autoimmunity antigen panel optimized for evaluation of over 20 autoimmunity disorders. For high productivity, enhanced support and troubleshooting assistance, the instruments can be connected to Lab Community, which is Phadia's own secure remote monitoring system.

"Offering flexibility, high capacity and reliability Phadia 2500 and Phadia 5000 are based on proven technology and are well equipped to meet high volume clinical laboratories demand for shorter lead times, increased throughput and higher efficiency," says Peter Silfwerbrand, Executive Vice President.

The new high capacity instruments are based on the same technology used in the Phadia Laboratory Systems product family, including Phadia 100, Phadia 250 and Phadia 1000. Clustering and combining several instruments within the Phadia Laboratory Systems brings a number of unique advantages as the same software is used in all equipment, including managing test results with the user-friendly and intuitive Phadia Information Data Manager or assessing quality through the largest quality assessment program in the world, the optional Phadia Quality Club. To increase efficiency, the instruments can be connected to a Laboratory Automation System for handling and transportation of sample tubes.

With today's launch, Phadia offers a full range of allergy and autoimmune testing instruments and components, meeting the demands from the smallest to the largest clinical testing laboratories around the world.
