Modern Healthcare: Beth Israel Deaconess Names Tabb President And CEO
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston named Dr. Kevin Tabb president and CEO of the 621-bed hospital, effective Oct. 17. Tabb, 47, currently is CMO at Stanford Hospital & Clinics, a 477-bed hospital in Palo Alto, Calif., according to news release from BIDMC. He previously was Stanford Hospital's chief quality and medical information officer. Earlier in his career, he was president of clinical data services for GE Healthcare Information Technologies (Lee, 9/6).

Dr. Kevin Tabb, chief medical officer of Stanford Hospital in California, will be the new president of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center ... here's a brief excerpt [of an interview with him] ... "Like all academic medical centers, we take care of very sick, very complex patients -; and very sick, very complex patients don't always lend themselves to simplistic plans. So I think we just need to make sure we take that into account as we look at global payments. That being said, as we look at global payments, all of us in academic medical centers are going to have to make some changes in how we think about health care (Goldberg, 9/6).

Also in Milwaukee, a new hospital president also is selected.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Children's Hospital Of Wisconsin Names Christensen President
Cindy Christensen, chief operating office of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, has been promoted to hospital president as well as to executive vice president of Children's Hospital and Health System. Christensen, a lawyer and registered nurse, oversees the health systems' hospitals in Milwaukee and Neenah and its specialty clinics in Milwaukee, the Fox Valley, Green Bay and northern Illinois. She has been chief operating officer of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin -; a title she will retain -; for 10 years (Boulton, 9/6).
