NewsGuard 100/100 Score

Surgical Information Systems (SIS) has become an Industry Supporter of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), as a part of a Corporate Supporter program available to pharmaceutical, medical device, anesthesia information management system and practice management companies. The company's involvement in the program provides unrestricted support for the vital functions of ASA - which include member resources, professional development programming and specialty advancement.

"The ASA Corporate Supporter program provides a unique opportunity to reach ASA members. Our collective goal is to advance the field of anesthesiology," said ASA Executive Vice President John A. Thorner, J.D., CAE. "ASA is fortunate to welcome SIS to the program and is proud to highlight the company's expertise in perioperative anesthesia systems that improve clinical documentation and assist with regulatory compliance."

"SIS is dedicated to advancing the practice of anesthesiology by providing solutions that allow ASA members to improve operational efficiencies, regulatory compliance, and financial performance," said SIS CEO Ed Daihl. "We are proud to be the first AIMS provider to participate as an ASA Industry Supporter and look forward to the opportunity to support the ASA in future initiatives."

The SIS AIMS, SIS Anesthesia, is available in conjunction with the SIS perioperative solution or for use with other surgical information systems. SIS was also the first AIMS vendor to be designated preferred vendor status by the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI). The AQI was created by ASA to be the primary source of quality management in the anesthesiology profession.

SIS's anesthesia analytics capabilities support anesthesia providers' use of anesthesia documentation, aiding in retrospective analysis for safety, efficiency, and profitability improvement. Anesthesiologists are provided with important data such as anesthesia start and stop times as well as past performance that help physicians understand trends. It creates efficiencies in billing systems as SIS Anesthesia captures all charges and allows for accurate reimbursement. This function reduces administrative burden for practices and allows anesthesia groups to process payments more efficiently.

SIS is the first AIMS provider to participate in the program joining current Corporate Supporters: Baxter Healthcare Corporation, PharMEDium, Teleflex and Anesthesia Business Consultants in the ASA Corporate Supporter Program.
