Emilia Group is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of strategic assets of Pharma Pac LLC, an OTC private brand and contract manufacturer, located in DeKalb, MS. The new entity is named Emilia Resources LLC and will operate as a manufacturing company of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products that will combine with Emilia Personal Care's strength in sales, marketing, supply chain and customer service.
This asset acquisition has enabled Emilia to expand its capabilities into complementary categories and gain a high quality, flexible personal care and OTC plant in the United States that is focused on creating value for brands and private brands in North America.
Renee Barch-Niles, President of Emilia Personal Care, states, "Our decision to invest in this asset acquisition was driven by the desire to support US manufacturing jobs, gain additional redundancy for Emilia Personal Care customers, and expand our product portfolio offerings to existing and new customers to support the fast growing CPG industry with innovative, flexible production."
The plant is an FDA certified production site and the most recent, independent 3rd party OTC Audit, received a 100% score, highlighting its recent investment in quality equipment and training, along with the team commitment to the highest quality procedures and policies. This quality focused mind-set matches Emilia's dedication and passion for high-quality, pharmaceutical production standards.
The unique product portfolio includes new categories for Emilia Personal Care including: analgesics, extended acne capabilities, anti-inflammatories, anti-gas, antifungals/antimicrobials, wound care, first aid, chest rubs, psoriasis and rosacea products, vaginal and rectal products along with various lubricants that are all registered properly as a medical device with the appropriate 510K's. Additional packaging capabilities for marketing will also come on-board, expanding consumer awareness and capture opportunities.
"During the height of Pharma Pac's business, it was the county's largest private employer," quotes Craig Hitt, Executive Director of Kemper County Economic Development Authority. He continued to share the importance of this strategic asset acquisition to the county by stating, "our goal is to work hand-in-hand with Emilia to bring those jobs back to DeKalb and we are pleased to note that initial on-boarding of new Emilia Resources' employees began on April 21st, 2014. We are confident that we can work with Emilia to bring the jobs back and they will become an important part of rebuilding an essential source of income for the people of Kemper County."
This is an exciting time for the Emilia Group, the people of Kemper County and the Consumer Goods Industry. Commenting on the close, Alon Tavor, CEO of Emilia Cosmetics, the parent company of Emilia Resources and Emilia Personal Care: "Like all ventures in life, it takes a team of people to make success happen. Without mentioning names of these very special people, we would be remiss if we did not recognize the select customers that listened to our mission and believed in us by committing to work with us to get the plant back into the vibrant business it once was under our new management. This commitment for keeping business with Emilia Resources was critical for this investment to work and thus, many people's lives have been touched and we all thank those retail partners for the opportunity to work together to make a difference."
