Members of United Concordia Dental can now book appointments online with participating network dentists at UnitedConcordia.com, thanks to a partnership between LocalMed and the national dental wellness company.
"Members can book an appointment with one of our dentists using the 'Schedule Now' button located on the Find a Dentist page of our website," said Jim Shade, vice president of network operations at United Concordia. "We are happy to be an industry leader using LocalMed's innovative technology to offer our members this convenience."
LocalMed's online scheduling platform works directly with the dental offices' practice management systems and provides the patient with accurate, real-time information. Members can view all open appointments in order to make the best possible selection. Once a patient makes their date and time selection, the appointment is confirmed and is automatically updated in the dental office's schedule. Additionally, the patient is sent a confirmation email along with reminders for their upcoming appointment.
"Our goal is to connect dental patients to their dentists in the most convenient and efficient manner possible," said Keith English, CEO of LocalMed. "When patients see our 'Schedule Now' button on UnitedConcordia.com, we want them to have confidence that they are booking with a dentist that accepts their insurance."
LocalMed's platform is customizable so that participating dental offices can choose the appointment types they would like to make available for online scheduling. While the service is free for patients, dentists pay a small monthly fee. Currently, LocalMed is offering a 20 percent discount to dentists in United Concordia's network.
"We are very excited to be working with United Concordia, their dentists and policyholders to introduce our platform and its benefits," said English. "We share the same goal, providing convenience to both dentists and patients. LocalMed now offers this same accessibility to the dental community that has become ingrained in other industries such as banking and travel."
