Baylor Scott & White Health to build sports medicine facility at The Star – Home of the Dallas Cowboys

Baylor Scott & White Health is working towards the construction of a 200,000 square-foot center of excellence for sports medicine at The Star – Home of the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco, Texas.

The initial phase of the project will include an ambulatory surgery center, a diagnostic imaging center, physical therapy, a preventive care program for athletes and several other health care offerings.

"We believe the addition of this world-class sports medicine facility significantly enhances the value, visibility, and mission of The Star – Home of the Dallas Cowboys," says Jerry Jones Jr., EVP & Chief Sales & Marketing Officer of the Dallas Cowboys.

"We are working to build a center of excellence in sports medicine not just for professional athletes, but for student-athletes and weekend warriors of all ages," says Joel Allison, CEO, Baylor Scott & White Health. "We are constantly looking for new ways to promote health and wellness in the communities we serve, and believe this is an exciting opportunity to create a medical destination offering everything from urgent care to innovative sports performance training."

The center is scheduled be operational in the fall of 2016.

The Star, a 91-acre mixed-use development project that encompasses the Dallas Cowboys World Corporate Headquarters and Training Facility, is being built on the Northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. The project will also include: office and retail space, a 12,000-seat multi-use event center and an Omni hotel. Ground was officially broken on the project in August 2014.
