Troseth's work and leadership with TIGER recognized by leading healthcare technology society
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) will honor Michelle Troseth, MSN, RN, DPNAP, FAAN, Chief Professional Practice Officer of Elsevier Clinical Solutions, with its Nursing Informatics Leadership Award at its annual conference in April.
With more than 25 years of experience co-designing and implementing evidence-based practice and technology infrastructures to support patient-centered care and interprofessional integration at the point of care, Troseth has been at the forefront of nursing informatics innovation.
"Michelle is an exceptional nurse leader, and through her work, she has made significant contributions to advancing nursing practice through evidence and informatics," said Joyce Sensmeier, MS, RN-BC, CPHIMS, FHIMSS, FAAN, Vice President, Informatics, HIMSS. "It will be my pleasure to present Michelle with this prestigious award."
She is currently co-chair of the HIMSS Technology Informatics Guiding Education Reform (TIGER) Committee. She served as the TIGER Summit Program chair and co-led a national collaborative on Usability and Clinical Application Design. Troseth has been an active member of TIGER since 2005, and was instrumental in guiding the TIGER transition into HIMSS. She is an engaged member of the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community and has provided a series of presentations on polarity management, and as a participant in the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase™.
Troseth chairs the informatics and technology expert panel of the American Academy of Nursing and is the president-elect for the National Academies of Practice (NAP), which promotes excellence in practice of healthcare professionals and quality healthcare for all through inter-professional collaboration in service delivery, research, education and public policy advocacy.
