Nihon University is pleased to announce that the first international symposium on Medical-Engineering Collaboration "Medicine Definitely Jumps Up with 8K" will be held on July 10, 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. Many experts on imaging technology or its medical applied research will present their achievements and future prospects on progress of medical technology and a new industry produced with 8K technology.

Nihon University introduced technological innovation brought about by 8K (super high vision) into the field of medicine as a trailblazer, and is promoting its medical-engineering collaboration project with the goal of providing high-quality medical services both in Japan and abroad.

Japan excels in image sensors, cameras, displays and data processing systems in 8K technology originating in Japan. Japan also leads the world in endoscope systems and medical services using such devices.

This symposium will show the most advanced and practical medical-engineering collaboration project in which these two fields band together to establish a "world-standard medical system originating in Japan."

The development of an endoscope medical system by utilizing 8K technology will innovate surgical operations and enable early detections and accurate diagnoses of diseases. The development of such a system has potential for creating internationally competitive industries by helping to produce next-generation real displays and create low-noise data processing technology.

Symposium participants can see demonstration images taken with 8K cameras and endoscopic and microscopic images by using conventional projectors and 8K projectors. 8K liquid crystal monitors and 8K cameras will also allow the participants to see the latest and 8K demonstration and live images.
