IMIX Americas launches new TFT-based Slimline DR detectors

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

IMIX Americas Inc., an innovative provider of high-value digital radiography (DR) systems, has expanded its product line with the addition of a thin detector option. The new TFT-based Slimline detectors join the company’s proprietary IMIXhorizon™ high-resolution CCD-based detectors, resulting in a comprehensive line of affordable, high-quality DR systems that meet a wide variety of imaging needs. The new detectors will be on display at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago, Nov. 29–Dec. 3 (Booth #6256).

The new thinner detectors will be offered in two configurations, including:

  • The IMIXSlimline, a 17-inch by 17-inch bucky-mounted version designed for all medical radiographic applications and for use with any of IMIX’s DR systems
  • The IMIXSlimlineT, a 17-inch by 14-inch portable “tethered” version that provides easy retrofit to existing cassette-based buckys for added positioning flexibility that may be needed for some specialized clinical applications

IMIXSlimline detectors feature 100 percent pixel fill factor, as well as the highest resolution and fastest image display of any large field of view TFT detector in the medical imaging market.

According to Sigrid Smitt-Jeppesen, president and chief executive officer of IMIX Americas, the expansion of the company’s detector technology reflects its commitment to offering DR products that deliver affordability, value, quality, and reliability.

“We continue to focus on providing unparalleled value in digital radiography and meeting customer requirements for a variety of imaging applications,” Smitt-Jeppesen said. “The new thinner detector solution is a natural complement to our proven detector technology and high-performing DR Systems. We have an outstanding track record for product innovation and responding to customer needs, and our customers will benefit from the increased options they now have in detector technologies and DR systems from IMIX.”

Smitt-Jeppesen said the company will be showcasing the new Slimline detector with its IMIX PanoRad SL, a universal, full-function DR system offering a small footprint and innovative stand design that allows for maximum positioning flexibility and the highest patient throughput. IMIXhorizon SomaRad, NovoRad, and ThorRad systems also will be on display.

The company also will demonstrate its new workstation software with an enhanced user interface—the first to allow the seamless integration of CCD, CR, and flat panel components. With integrated generator and detector control, it features touch-screen operation, professional image viewer, multi-media exam positioning guide, teaching tools, and other key features that improve efficiency and workflow.

IMIX SL and IMIXhorizon DR systems are high-quality, cost-effective solutions for all general radiography applications. IMIX serves value-conscious clinicians and administrators who are reluctant to pay for expensive DR solutions but need more functionality and better workflow than offered by inefficient cassette-based CR systems.
