AnyPresence, the leading enterprise backend-as-a-service (BaaS) platform, today announced that Miami Children's Hospital has implemented the AnyPresence solution for mobile app development, including unique new capabilities in their Fit4KidsCare app.  Marking an industry-first for children's hospitals, the recently updated Fit4KidsCare app now offers families the ability to order gift shop items, such as toys or cards, from a mobile device, and have them delivered to patients in-room within minutes.

"Flexibility and the ability to leverage both HTML5 and native iOS code was paramount in the development of our Fit4KidsCare app," said Ed Martinez, CIO at Miami Children's Hospital.  "With its unique architecture and non-proprietary run-time components, the AnyPresence platform provided the flexibility required to implement this project, while establishing the capability to implement additional apps on our roadmap to continuously improve patient engagement."

The Fit4KidsCare gift store app also includes a web-based administrative portal for hospital staff to manage the product catalog, process orders, send automated email notifications, and perform HIPAA-compliant patient lookups against a Cerner EMR system, all powered by an enterprise-class backend-as-a-service from AnyPresence.
