CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank announced today that it is partnering with the Memorial Healthcare System, the fifth-largest public healthcare system in the nation, to collect umbilical cord blood that will be placed in a global registry for patients in need of a potentially life-saving transplant.
"The exclusive agreement with Memorial Healthcare System will allow CORD:USE to continue building the National Cord Blood Inventory with racially and ethnically diverse cord blood stem cell units, which is very important since patients are more likely to match someone from their own race or ethnicity," said Edward Guindi, M.D., President and CEO of CORD:USE.
Memorial Healthcare System is highly regarded for its exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
