A new single pill is available for treating both high blood pressure and high cholesterol

A new single pill is available for treating both high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

These conditions are two common risk factors for heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States. Either alone is cause for concern, but they frequently occur together and when that's the case, they pose a much greater risk for heart attack and stroke. Yet they're not always treated together. In one study, fewer than one-in-ten patients were able to reach their blood pressure and cholesterol at recommended levels.

Caduet, which was recently approved by the FDA, is the first medication that treats high blood pressure and high cholesterol in one pill. People with high blood pressure and high cholesterol should talk to their doctor about treating both and if Caduet is right for them. For more information, visit http://www.caduet.com.
