Actavis launches Terbinafine hydrochloride tablets in the U.S.

Actavis Group has announced that it has launched Terbinafine hydrochloride tablets in the U.S. Distribution of the product will commence immediately.

Terbinafine hydrochloride tablets, the generic equivalent of Novartis' Lamisil(R) tablets, will be available in 250 mg strength. Terbinafine hydrochloride tablets are indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the fingernail and toenail.

Annual sales of terbinafine hydrochloride tablets in the U.S. were approximately US$687 million for the twelve months ending March 2007 according to IMS Health data.
