A baby boy is said to be doing well following surgery where he received five organ transplants.

The boy, Elijah Moulton received a replacement liver, pancreas, small bowel, colon, and stomach during the course of a 7-hour operation at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, in New York.

Eight month old Elijah was apparently born with a rare deadly disease called total intestinal atresia, which prevented him from eating.

The baby boy is from the small Adirondack village in Lewis, Essex County, 110 miles north of Albany; he has a brother age 5 and a sister age 3.

Elijah is expected to undergo rehabilitation and start learn to eat next week.
