Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is coming together today with Ernie Harwell to jointly announce Mr. Harwell's retirement as Blue Cross's health and fitness advocate. Since 2003 Ernie has represented Blue Cross's commitment to fitness, exercise and healthy living with grace, honor and distinction.

Over the years Blue Cross has been blessed to have Ernie share his experiences and commitment to health and fitness with thousands of people across Michigan. Ernie has literally changed people's lives through his efforts to communicate about the benefits of healthy behavior and we are grateful to him for that. He has been an inspiration to all of us at the Blues who have the honor of knowing him.

On behalf of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan family, our thoughts and prayers go out to Ernie and his wife Lulu, and the Harwell family.
