Impulse Monitoring, Inc. (IMI), a leading provider of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) services to hospitals, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), Nashville, TN, to provide comprehensive IONM overflow support to VUMC’s in-house neuromonitoring team.
IMI’s services will include real-time, onsite monitoring by highly-trained, certified neurophysiologist-technicians. IONM assesses neurological function involving the brain, spinal cord and related nerve structures during such surgeries. Use of IONM facilitates the surgical process and can reduce surgical risk by providing alerts to surgeons of potential harm to the spinal cord or neural structures.
