Cold Spring Publishing releases new oncology publication for nurse practitioners

One of the fastest-growing specialties in oncology healthcare will soon have a clinical journal addressing its particular professional needs. Cold Spring Publishing, LLC, is pleased to announce The Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology, a publication for nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, advanced practice nurses, and physician's assistants who practice in the field of oncology.

With a target circulation of over 7,000, the journal will be distributed at no charge to qualifying recipients in the United States. The inaugural issue is scheduled for launch in May 2010, and the journal will then publish 6 times a year.

"Even with the many advances seen in prevention, treatment, and care, the number of people diagnosed and living with cancer is on the rise," said Anthony Cutrone, President of Cold Spring Publishing. The journal content will include clinical reviews, original research, translational research summaries, pharmacologic reviews, case studies, national practice profiles, news updates, professional development articles, patient information, and more. Pamela Hallquist Viale, RN, MS, CS, ANP, AOCNP, will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology. Ms. Viale has over 25 years of experience as an oncology nurse, clinical nurse specialist and oncology nurse practitioner, and is currently an oncology nurse consultant and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Nursing. She has published and lectured widely on a number of topics, with a focus on symptom management and colorectal cancer.
