Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) issues the following statement upon the United States Senate's vote tonight to proceed to debate on Affordable Health Care legislation:

"Senators Arlen Specter and Bob Casey deserve the thanks of Philadelphians and all Pennsylvanians for casting stand-up, critical votes in the Senate tonight advancing President Obama's historic Affordable Health Care Reform legislation to full debate. The President and the Senate leaders are to be commended for their leadership on health care. Work remains to be done, both in the Senate and the House of Representatives. But every step along this road is history-making, and tonight our nation has taken one major step forward to reform our broken, inadequate health care and health insurance system. "
