Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information solutions for small community and critical access hospitals, announced today it will participate in the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conferences, The ARRA Era – Takin’ HIT to the Streets, in Dallas, Dec. 4, 2009 and in Chicago, Jan. 15, 2010.

The conferences are designed to help healthcare providers determine how to best invest and gain a return-on-investment on today’s healthcare information technology.

Designed specifically for the small community hospital market, Healthland’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) enables healthcare providers to quickly and easily access a comprehensive view of demographic, historical and clinical patient information from all care settings within the healthcare system including hospital, clinic, home health and long-term care.

“These conferences provide valuable information to the small community hospital market,” said James Burgess, president and CEO of Healthland. “For facilities with limited resources, buying decisions have to be right the first time. This event will help these healthcare providers determine where to invest in the technology options offered today, and how to gain ROI on their investment.”

The one-day HIMSS ARRA Era - Takin’ HIT to the Streets conferences offer healthcare providers and product and service providers an opportunity to discuss health IT solutions for hospitals and healthcare systems. Education sessions provide insight on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, contracting, privacy and security, health information exchanges, clinician use of health IT and return-on-investment for the electronic medical record. Attendees can also meet and discuss their technology needs with participating product and service providers at table-top exhibits. In addition, Healthland will present at the Small Hospital Track during the conferences.

“Healthcare providers who plan to purchase or upgrade their health IT systems are looking for the right technology solutions to document meaningful use and provide a positive ROI,” said Dave Garets, HIMSS Analytics President/CEO. “The IT solutions providers joining us at these conferences share targeted information and technology options with the healthcare providers to help them make an informed buying decision.”
