Toshiba launches new education plan for healthcare staff

In today’s fast-paced health care environment, it is critical that hospitals keep their staff updated on using the latest imaging technology available. Currently, most facilities receive the majority of their diagnostic imaging equipment training when a new system is delivered. Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. recognizes the importance of maintaining that training edge and now is providing customers with an option – Performance Plus.

Performance Plus is a first-of-a-kind education plan that allows customers to purchase education “points” for use over several years with Toshiba. Throughout the product’s life, customers with Performance Plus can use the points to visit Toshiba’s Education Center in Irvine, Calif., attend an online course or have a Toshiba representative visit their facility to conduct in-person training.

The Performance Plus plan is particularly beneficial for customers as hospital staff changes, imaging technology is updated and new software is added. Currently, since most training is provided only during the equipment purchase, new staff may not be trained on the diagnostic imaging equipment or existing staff may not be up-to-date on new imaging protocols. By choosing the Performance Plus option, customers now have the ability to stay on the forefront of medical imaging by empowering them to utilize their existing equipment to its fullest potential.

“Toshiba is committed to helping customers optimize their existing imaging equipment,” said Sharon Yoon, director, Education and Sales Support, Toshiba. “Since technological advances in medical imaging often outpace a facility’s capital resources, the new Performance Plus plan provides additional educational opportunities after the initial equipment purchase. This helps to keep health care staff abreast of the latest protocols, ultimately empowering them to utilize their equipment’s technology to its fullest potential.”
