WHO: Zynx Health CEO and President Scott Weingarten, MD, MPH will be speaking at IHI on clinical decision support, specifically focusing on the implications of clinical decision support for meaningful use of EHRs and American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding. Zynx is the leader in evidence-based and experience-based clinical decision support.

WHEN: December 6-9, 2009. Weingarten’s presentation is session number A17/B17 and will take place in Grand 1-2 on Tuesday, December 8 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m..

WHERE: Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Orlando, Fla. Orlando World Center Marriot Resort and Convention Center.

WHY: The implementation of an EHR system alone will not ensure full ARRA reimbursement. Weingarten will explain what steps need to be taken to ensure a hospital or a physician practice will receive full ARRA reimbursement. The ability to demonstrate meaningful use of EHRs will require evidence-based clinical decision support in the form of evidence-based order sets and clinical decision support rules and alerts. Weingarten will highlight how evidence-based clinical decision support implemented at the point of care has been proven to measurably improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of patient care with real life customer case studies and ROI.
