Nutrisystem recognized as best among popular weight loss programs

With millions of Americans making it their New Year’s resolution to lose weight and lead a healthier lifestyle, and with the cost of some diet programs rising as high as $10,000 per year, Nutrisystem has been credited by two of the nation’s most respected media outlets for helping consumers shed pounds without lightening their wallets.

“The Skinny on Big, Fat Diet Programs”

As part of its reporting on the weight loss category, SmartMoney magazine recognized Nutrisystem for providing consumers with the “best value” when it compared six of the most popular weight loss programs – topping such companies as Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Atkins Diet, South Beach Diet and Medifast for value. Separately, CBS MoneyWatch reported Nutrisystem as the “least expensive” meal delivery program and “worth the money”, and that “for a meal-delivery diet system, Nutrisystem is more economical than Jenny Craig.”

“While you cannot place a price tag on good health, at Nutrisystem we have made it our priority to make living a healthy lifestyle more affordable and accessible to our customers with nutritionally balanced meal plans and offering the support to help them succeed,” said Joe Redling, Chairman and CEO of Nutrisystem, Inc. “Our customers are tightening their belts because of the results they are seeing from Nutrisystem, not because of the impact that it has on their wallets.”

“In addition, based on a recent National Business Research Institute survey of our customers, four out of five say that Nutrisystem is the best value for their money over any other weight loss program they have tried, and that it was the best investment they have made in themselves*” said Chris Terrill, Chief Marketing Officer of Nutrisystem, Inc.
