MedeAnalytics, a leading provider of healthcare performance management solutions, announced that Blue Shield of California (BSC) has extended its agreement for MedeAnalytics’ Claims Transparency solution, which powers BSC’s successful Partnership in Operational Excellence and Transparency (POET) program. BSC has partnered with nearly 100 California hospitals to improve claims performance metrics, streamline business processes and accelerate revenue cycles. The POET program has resulted in a significant decrease in the number of claims denials and appeals.

“Blue Shield of California’s initiative is a shining example of win-win collaboration between an innovative payer and hospitals. We are pleased that our solution has helped enable the POET program’s impressive administrative cost reductions and efficiency gains.”

According to Juan Davila, BSC’s senior vice president of network management, “The claims process is notoriously plagued by inefficient and often manual systems to process claims data, much of which resides in different silos. MedeAnalytics’ Claims Transparency solution provides a web-based analytic portal to consolidate and view claims performance data, providing unprecedented visibility for both BSC and participating hospitals. This sharing of data has built trust, improving our relationships with providers.”

Mike Gallagher, chief executive officer of MedeAnalytics, commented, “Blue Shield of California’s initiative is a shining example of win-win collaboration between an innovative payer and hospitals. We are pleased that our solution has helped enable the POET program’s impressive administrative cost reductions and efficiency gains.”
