Upp
Technology, a leader in public health software solutions, announced
today at the Public Health Preparedness Summit, that it has enhanced its suite
of irms software with the addition of the irms Vaccine Provider
Registration System. The new provider management solution is already
running in multiple states and the company expects to announce the
deployment of this system in another four states within the first
quarter of 2010.
Built on Upp’s irms|EM™
Emergency Management system, the irms Vaccine Provider Registration
System efficiently allows healthcare providers, medical practitioners
and pharmacies to register their organizations with the state and order
vaccinations through an online Web portal. Using the embedded irms
Decision Support System, the software automatically analyzes state-wide
provider data along with state, regional, county and jurisdictional data
to apportion the available vaccinations. Allocations are made in
accordance with the Centers for Disease Control’s immunization
prioritization policy.
Vaccine providers can electronically approve orders through the irms Web
portal with the option to accept the allocations or adjust quantities.
Approved orders are sent electronically to vaccine distributors directly
or via the CDC's VACMAN system. Providers can also use the online Web
portal to record the doses administered and destroyed for easy and
accurate reporting back to the CDC.
Multiple vaccines can be allocated systematically to regions based on
availability, demographics and other important criteria. The system also
recalculates vaccine allocations as additional supply becomes available,
demographics change, or providers are added or removed.
The software automatically records all vaccination movements, activities
and transactions within the system for easy and accurate reporting back
to the CDC. Multiple custom reports can be created to provide state
official with a real-time understanding of state-wide vaccination
inventories and a global view of the state-wide provider network for a
more accurate understanding of the provider landscape.
