dbMotion, a provider of health interoperability solutions, has been chosen by Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle, Washington to create a single interoperable electronic patient record across numerous information technology environments for both in-hospital and ambulatory care providers.

“We see health information exchange between acute and ambulatory environments as the key to better and more effective healthcare”

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center is a full-service, non-profit hospital with a history of clinical excellence and innovative approaches to patient care. In recent years, Northwest Hospital has been a regional leader in implementing technologies to improve patient safety, including inpatient and ambulatory electronic health records, automated medication reconciliation and bedside computer charting, among others.

“Above all else, Northwest Hospital is committed to providing safe, quality patient care,” said Bill Schneider, president and CEO of Northwest Hospital. “dbMotion’s solution will be a key element in helping us connect everyone on a patient’s care team, no matter where they are, and giving them access to the critical information they need to provide comprehensive, coordinated treatment. In the end, that means better outcomes and a more satisfying experience for our patients.”

dbMotion, in partnership with Allscripts, will create a complete solution spanning Northwest Hospital’s inpatient, acute care environment and outpatient providers in its network, providing physicians and clinicians across the continuum of care with a single electronic patient record. The solution will connect many systems, including Northwest Hospital’s ambulatory electronic health record, Siemens, PICIS ED and GE Radiology, among others.

dbMotion fulfills the vision of connected healthcare. dbMotion’s health interoperability solution enables healthcare organizations and health information exchanges (HIEs) to meaningfully integrate and leverage their information assets by placing an integrated patient record within clinicians’ workflows. dbMotion closes information gaps between caregivers, enhances decision making and drives improvements in the quality and efficiency of patient care.

“We see health information exchange between acute and ambulatory environments as the key to better and more effective healthcare,” said Peter McClennen, dbMotion’s president for North America. “We are excited to partner with Northwest Hospital in providing integrated and actionable health information that improves the patient experience and enhances physician workflows.”
