Full Medicare coverage for IVF: CFAS felicitates Quebec government

Published on March 17, 2010 at 8:09 AM · No Comments

The Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) congratulates Premier Jean Charest and his Government on their announcement of full Medicare coverage for in-vitro fertilization treatments in Quebec. This is great news for infertile couples in Quebec, and the CFAS hopes that the many thousands of infertile couples across the rest of Canada will soon be able to enjoy similar recognition and be able to access publicly-funded treatment as the other provinces and territories follow Quebec's lead.

The CFAS is the recognized Canadian multidisciplinary authority for fertility. It provides leadership in reproductive medicine and science in the provision of practice guidelines, standards and certification for non-medical professionals and education. A position statement on the need for public funding of infertility treatment across Canada was published by the CFAS on March 2, 2010. http://cnw.ca/fr/releases/archive/March2010/02/c4823.html
