GHP selects MirixaPro web-based clinical platform to support delivery of MTM services

NewsGuard 100/100 Score

The Geisinger Health Plan (GHP), a regional provider of health benefits to almost 250,000 members in Pennsylvania, has selected Mirixa Corporation's MirixaPro(SM) web-based clinical platform to support the delivery of medication therapy management (MTM) services to its Medicare Part D members.

Nationally recognized for excellence, GHP was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the sixth best commercial plan in terms of quality and service. GHP is one of the nation's largest rural health maintenance organizations (HMO) and includes nearly 28,000 physicians. GHP selected Mirixa due to the flexibility and the extensibility of the Mirixa technology. Modifications are easy to configure and the platform can grow to integrate GHP's care management systems of the future.

The MirixaPro platform will help GHP monitor and improve patient adherence and appropriate use of medications, as well as help improve patient safety and education. GHP will utilize licensed pharmacists in both dispensing and a call center setting to deliver its MTM services through the MirixaPro platform.

Dr. Ray Roth, Medical Director and Vice President of Pharmacy for GHP comments, "As an organization, we are constantly seeking ways to improve and to increase quality while at the same time reduce or stabilize costs for the services we provide to our members. Incorporating the MirixaPro platform into our MTM service offering will greatly enhance the value of the patient care service to our members and most importantly will further advance patient engagement."

"Mirixa is proud to be working with an organization of Geisinger Health Plan's caliber," says Rick Solano, CEO of Mirixa Corporation. "Our technology will enhance the patient care services being conducted by GHP.  In early discussions, GHP's pharmacists have already expressed satisfaction with the platform's common sense design and user-focused navigation."

Geisinger Health Plan will begin using the MirixaPro platform for MTM service delivery in August 2010.
