Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (NASDAQ: ZIXI), the leader in email encryption services, has announced a new, three-year contract with Orlando Health, a $1.5 billion not-for-profit health care organization and a community-based network of hospitals and care centers in the Orlando region.

“Email encryption has become a common practice in ensuring the security of patient information and meeting the federal regulations set by HIPAA and HITECH”

ZixCorp will provide Orlando Health with email encryption for 10,000 Orlando Health users through ZixGateway (formerly ZixVPM®). Orlando Health will be able to secure protected health information (PHI) and alleviate security and compliance burdens on employees. Within the ZixCorp® solution, Orlando Health will also leverage ZixPort®, a pull delivery technology that provides a secure portal for delivering sensitive information to external customers and partners that have not yet registered for a ZixCorp service.

"Email encryption has become a common practice in ensuring the security of patient information and meeting the federal regulations set by HIPAA and HITECH," said Stephen Stallard, Corporate Director of Information Security at Orlando Health. "As the market leader, ZixCorp sets the standard and was the intelligent choice. ZixCorp's experience with healthcare customers only increased our confidence in its proven solution."

ZixCorp provides email encryption for more than 1,200, or nearly one in five, hospitals in the United States. In addition, ZixCorp has the world's largest email encryption community - ZixDirectorySM - with more than 21 million users.

"In an environment with increasing pressure from regulations, ZixCorp Email Encryption Services has never made it easier for organizations to communicate PHI over secure email," said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "ZixCorp not only provides email security but focuses on delivering next generation email encryption that emphasizes the recipient experience. We appreciate Orlando Health's trust in our solution to meet increasing pressures, as well as protect its most valuable relationships with patients and partners."
