Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) proudly announces a new agreement with the North Shore-LIJ Health System, New York's largest health system and recipient of the 2010 National Quality Healthcare Award from the National Quality Forum. The agreement includes the sale of MSC's endovascular simulation system, Simantha®, and licensing of MSC's curriculum and training services to advance North Shore's education and patient safety goals over the next three years.

"MSC's state-of-the-art endovascular simulation system helps us train highly specialized clinical teams in a safe workplace to practice skills and high-risk events while performing minimally invasive procedures without risk to real patients," says Kathleen Gallo, RN, PhD, North Shore-LIJ's Chief Learning Officer. "The simulator technology is very realistic and physicians and nurses get the benefit of real-time physiologic responses from a lifelike patient."

"As a national leader in implementing advanced medical simulation training, the North Shore-LIJ Center for Learning and Innovation is raising the bar for continuing education of healthcare professionals," says Bill Younkes, MSC President and CEO. "MSC is privileged to provide SimSuite products and services in partnership with North Shore-LIJ to support its leadership in the simulation community and commitment to high-quality clinical care and continuing medical education."

The SimSuite Education System will be located at North Shore-LIJ's prestigious Patient Safety Institute of its Center for Learning and Innovation in Lake Success, New York. The SimSuite Endovascular System provides cognitive and technical learning opportunities for all healthcare professionals working in cardiology, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology and interventional radiology, as well as for hospital-based nurses and emergency room teams. North Shore-LIJ may contract with MSC for onsite clinical education services to help meet short-term training and quality objectives.
