Today, at the IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo, the largest annual food science forum and exposition in the world, Canon Communications LLC announced it is in the process of a redesign of NutritionalOutlook.com, the leading online resource for manufacturers of dietary supplements and healthy foods. The website redesign, featuring new content, qualified supplier search, community-building tools, and nutraceutical industry resources, will launch in fall 2010.

“The NutritionalOutlook.com redesign is a significant undertaking for our team and we are working on a number of elements to increase the site's appeal to visitors and advertisers alike in this top-to-bottom redesign”

"The NutritionalOutlook.com redesign is a significant undertaking for our team and we are working on a number of elements to increase the site's appeal to visitors and advertisers alike in this top-to-bottom redesign," stated Patrick Lundy, Senior Group Publisher of Nutritional Outlook, "We want our visitors to be able to quickly access relevant content, search for qualified nutraceutical suppliers, and have a bigger voice on NutritionalOutlook.com."

The new NutritionalOutlook.com will adopt an entirely new content strategy geared at expanding traditional content offerings as well as serving visitors with relevant resources like white papers, webcasts, forums, blogs, and qualified supplier resources based on their search parameters and interests. The redesigned NutritionalOutlook.com is built on a highly customized version of the Drupal open-source content management platform. The flexible platform will allow for enhanced content experiences, powerful navigation and search, as well as tools designed to strengthen community and allow visitors to contribute to opinions, advice and content. In addition, NutritionalOutlook.com will provide new and engaging advertising and sponsorship opportunities along with registration, analytics, website statistics, and user behavioral information.

One of the key new features will be the qualified supplier directory powered by industry-leading search capability. Canon Communications has pioneered the latest in online directory technology with the introduction of its medical device qualified suppliers directory, Qmed, in April 2010. The proven Qmed platform will be modified to relate to the nutraceutical industry's requirements providing a powerful tool for the industry. According to Patrick Lundy, "Nutraceuticals manufacturers will be able to pull targeted search results and listings of global suppliers who are GMP-registered, ISO certified, have GRAS status, and have been reviewed by our editorial staff. It will be the only site with this type of vetted, targeted information."

Ron Wall, Senior VP of Publishing commented, "In B-to-B media, content is still king. The combination of Nutritional Outlook's excellent editorial team and Canon's industry-leading Digital Media group will deliver top-notch content and online marketing services for the nutraceuticals marketplace. Our audience needs this community and when it is complete, the new NutritionalOutlook.com will provide it. We are excited to invest in this important resource for the global nutraceuticals industry."
