In just over three years, CUTCO Cutlery has donated over a half million dollars to support the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women® movement.

Since 2007, CUTCO has donated $540,000, and by the end of its current agreement in March 2011, the kitchen cutlery company expects to donate more than $600,000 to the fight against heart disease in women.

"We take to heart our commitment to Go Red For Women," said Steve Pokrzyk, CUTCO's director of marketing. "Everyone – from executives to our sales representatives nationwide – are engaged with and excited about our relationship with the American Heart Association. It's a perfect fit for our brand and our customers, who care about making health conscious meals for themselves and their families."

Besides a corporate-level financial donation, CUTCO also donates 10 percent of the sales of 4-Pc. Red Table Knife Sets and Red Super Shears to the cause.

Donations from corporate supporters like CUTCO help fund awareness campaigns, research, education and community programs to benefit women.

"CUTCO has demonstrated extraordinary dedication in supporting Go Red For Women's fight against heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women," said Debra Lockwood, American Heart Association Board Chairman and executive vice president and CFO, Provident Resources Group, Inc. "We're grateful for the contributions CUTCO has made, which helps us educate women - mothers, wives, grandmothers, etc. - about heart disease. This will, in turn, allow us to improve the health of families and communities across the country."

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association's solution to save women's lives. With one out of three women still dying from heart disease, we are committed to fighting this No. 1 killer that is preventable. GoRedForWomen.org, a premier source of information and education, connects millions of women of all ages and gives them tangible resources to turn personal choices into life-saving actions. We encourage women and the men who love them to embrace the cause.
