The Texas A&M University System's workers' compensation pharmacy benefit management strategy with Tampa, FL based myMatrixx, which integrates clinical pharmacy services with advanced technology to optimize recovery outcomes, features a collaborative connectivity arrangement assuring continuation of the Texas A&M  System's compliance with state eBilling requirements.

Jopari Solutions, a leading supplier of eBill Processing and Gateway Services to the Texas Workers' Compensation community, is deploying Pharmacy Network transaction connectivity linking myMatrixx and Starr Comprehensive Solutions, the Texas A&M  System's provider of medical cost containment and bill review services.

Kevin McGinnis, Director of Risk Management for the Texas A&M System, said, "As a prominent public sector self insurer and leading educational institution in the state of Texas, we have a continuing obligation to make our workers' compensation program a model of efficiency, equitable benefit administration, regulatory compliance and technology leadership.  The solution provided by Jopari, Starr and myMatrixx working together lends key support to our multiple program objectives."

Stated Patti Starr, CEO of Starr Comprehensive Solutions: "Effective cost containment relies on timely review of bill and attachment information, the exchange of which should involve minimal frictional cost and as few intermediary steps as technology makes possible.  We are pleased Jopari's trading partner connectivity supports our workflow requirements, and look forward to mutual reinforcement with myMatrixx of the Texas A&M System's workers' compensation program operational goals."

Under the arrangement, myMatrixx Network pharmacy bills will be transmitted to Jopari for indexing, validation, and edits with Texas eBill clean rules, and then transferred to Starr Comprehensive Solutions for bill review and payment recommendations.

"myMatrixx is the new generation of pharmacy benefits.  Our advanced technology and service model, TechnologyPlus™, allows us to easily connect to other platforms and bring value-added services to our clients and their benefit recipients," said Steve MacDonald, CEO of myMatrixx.  Connecting with Starr through Jopari is equivalent to a direct connect, and has all the advantages of being a seamless management tool that will help us get injured Texas A&M System employees healthy and back to work."

J.R. "Steve" Stevens, Jopari's Chief Executive Officer, commented, "Jopari's advantage as a leading eBill Processing Agent in Texas since the January 2008 mandate took effect is that we have established a mature, broad-based connected trading partner community.  Our experience allows us to shape custom connectivity solutions around the kinds of innovative cost management business relationships exemplified by the Texas A&M System, Starr and myMatrixx.  We are dedicated to accommodative solutions that ultimately complement and strengthen the payer's operational goals – such as 100% paperless workflow."
